LYRICS & MUSIC | Who you are

I stare at my reflection in the mirror
Why am I doing this to myself?
Losing my mind on a tiny error,
I nearly left the real me on the shelf
No no no no...

Don't lose who you are, in the blur of the start
Seeing is deceiving, dreaming is believing
It's okay not to be okay

Sometimes it's hard, to follow your heart
Tears don't mean you're losing
Everybody's bruising
Just be true to who you are...

INSPIRATION | Audrey Kawasaki

Fine Art paintings by Audrey Kawasaki. She is most known for her oil on wood works, which manage to come out both innocent yet erotic/attractive yet disturbing. As a graduate of Fine Arts Painting from the Pratt Institute, the young female artist has already mastered a precise technical style influenced by both manga comics and Art Nouveau/Jugendstil <3. Painting women who captivate with the direct stare of their bedroom eyes. Love her work, especially because of the 'Jugendstil' influence. What do ya think...

COCO RAE | La mémoire de Paris

It's been i while, but i got so busy with school. Here's my memory of Paris. These are pictures from 2008 (looong time ago). I went there with school that year, and had to make a photo report of the trip. I tried to capture moments, so the picutres themselfs could tell a story. Loved doing that! We also went to the old house and beautiful garden of painter Claude Monet (Jardin de Monet a Giverny). We were there pretty early and there still was a light fog floating over the ground when we came there. It was like in a dream. All those bright colours, with a lightly soft blanket over it...

This school year i'm going to Paris again, hope to see other things than usual. All that tourist stuff is kinda boring. But i came along these, and thought of that year again, it seems so long ago. I'm curious to see if there're changes in Paris. 2008 and 2012 seems like a big difference. It's a long time, that's for sure. What do ya think of my pictures....

In my new 8 week project for school, i've gotta do a foodstyling shoot! Totally different from the last project, that was a fashion shoot (see post: ARTEMIS | Dazed & Confused). But very interesting! I found this inspiration, never thought that food could look so beautiful... now i'm craving for these delicious things. The photography makes it even prettier! Take a look at there website, it's such a good concept. What do ya think...

INSPIRATION | 'Children of the Dark'

Some inspiration i came along. These pieces are made by Natallia Pilipenka from Fashion Institute of Technology. The name of the collection is: “Children of the Dark”, a beautiful name i think! The designer was inspired by an imaginary family of sisters who have lived in the deep dark forest for hundreds of years. I think she wanted to create the image of something dark, beautiful and organic, fitting into the atmosphere of the forest. Being inspired by the multitude of textures inherent to the forest, the attempted to reproduce them in the garments through the use of techniques such as; pleating, applique, knitting, crochet, weaving, quilting, beading and macrame. Old techniques are all coming back! Love it! What do ya think...
